The Ethics of Outrageously Wasteful Novelty Spending

THE $185,000 CIGAR:

When someone makes an outrageously-priced, unnecessary extravagant purchase-- just for the sake of novelty-- they are essentially saying, "I could have fed this many people (35,000??, 80,000???) or provided this much medical care or shelter for person(s) who needed it, but I decided  not to."

None of us Lives in a bubble.  We are all part of a community, society and a whole.  No one gets to make decisions without affecting others; and to pretend that we do is an illness, a psychosis, a delusion.  To celebrate those who pretend that it's okay to waste money, BY THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS AND MORE, who Live only for themselves, and to admire and revere them is also an illness, a psychosis, and delusion.

It's time that we stop glorifying this INSANE, ego-based consumerism, and hold our Brothers & Sisters to a higher standard of responsibility, in a world full of need. ☮♥
